Stab Resistance Impact Tester
Drop-weight test system for standards-oriented stab resistance testing with blade and spike tools.
Description
The Stab Resistance Impact Tester is designed for evaluating protection materials under defined blade and spike loading. The setup combines a rigid work table with a guided drop mass whose position is measured precisely before controlled release.
The material holder can be adjusted between 0° and 65°. This allows specimens to be loaded at different angles while drop height, velocity and energy remain available for documentation and evaluation.
Test Setup
The drop mass is raised inside a guided tube system and released electromagnetically at the selected height. An optical trigger module captures the drop velocity. The table carries the backing materials and standards-related tools used for stab resistance testing.
For laboratory planning, overall height and free working area are the critical constraints: the complete setup requires a ceiling height of around 6.5 m and a footprint of at least approximately 1800 × 1000 mm.
Applications
- Stab resistance testing of protection materials according to NIJ 0115.00
- Standards-oriented test setups according to VPAM and HOSDB
- Test series with blade and spike tools
- Documentation of drop height, velocity and impact energy
